I have one more question regarding visa requirement.
For those who do not have a regular “回鄉證”, is a visa necessary to go into Macau or China for that tour along the Pearl River Delta?
Best regards,
Yours,
David

David ,
You don’t need a visa to go intio Macau if you have a HK ID Card or ajn American passport but you definitely need an entry visa to go into China if you do not have the regular entry permit for HK locals.Make sure you apply for tne entry visa in the States prior to your departure.

PS I think James will send out a cruise itineary soon.It includes Ports of Call ,Sailing Dates and most important the Price.
My understanding is the same as Dennis’. As far as I know, for US citizens, one has to apply for the visa in the US before leaving for China. It takes about 1 week and costs US$100. This can all be done by mail. It’s a multiple entry visa for a year. I was told that you might not be able to apply a visa in Hong Kong. But check it out.
RE VISA FOR CHINA, IT CAN BE OBTAINED IN HALF A DAY. IF YOU GIVE ME YR PASSPORT WITH TWO PHOTOS, TWO DAYS AHEAD OF THE TOUR, THE COSTS WILL BE MUCH LOWER.
DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THIS.
CERTAINLY NO PIRATES TOO IN SOUTH CHINA SEAS. NEVER HEARD OF .
TO BE MORE FACTUAL, CROOKS AND PICK POCKETS IN CHINA ARE EVERYWHERE, WATCH OUT FOR THEM .

Hi Ronnie:
What about visa to Vietnam? Do I get one before I leave for HK?
Patrick
dear patrick,
for vietnam, definately yes.
for china, you can get your visaa in hk` china travel service.
when hk reopens for business, i will let you know the costs for ` urgent` visa and ordinary visa that takes two days to obtain.
china travel service has offices in central, wanchai, monkok and the new territories, its much more convenient . costs could be cheaper.
you owe me a cup of hk milk tea, the best place is in an old restaurant in happy valley matey, a part of our old hk…
happy new year,
ronnie
